One could do well to listen to Montaigne as he lays into lazy intellectuals and poor arguments. But read the Footnotes in Latin and English (thank goodness!) because you see how the Classics have educated him and provide so much of the material for his various Essays. From memory. I will definitely read more Montaigne.
