Gosh people like me could read them and get ideas!

And that is a terrible thing as blogs are surely useful as an informal source of learning philosophy.

There are some very fine Philosophy blogs out there.

Brian Leiter Famous Philosophy Blog

Crooked Timber Free Range Academics with great influence, a general blog which covers a wide subject matter.

Public Reason Political Theory and Philosophy open to Faculty and Students, Non students have to read via RSS feeds and grab resources that are freely available from the blog eg pdf files, mp3 files etc

So how much can you informally learn about philosophy and other parts of academic disciplines just by reading up blogs and constructing one’s own lists?
