LATER EDIT: Sylvia Plath tells us the story of  a young woman who wins Magazine Journalist competition only to find that she breaks down under the pressure. An honest and disturbing   account of what can happen to those who hit the big time that people might find difficult to assimilate.

Mental illness is hidden under cover and much less talked about. Plath has demonstrated the courage to expose it in this searing account.

Sylvia Plath is a first class author who in ‘The Bell Jar’ has written a first class book.
Highly recommended. Plath is now a name on my Reading Lists. And the Bell Jar should be a must on private Reading Lists the world over.
